Wowzi, Kenyan startup managed to secure $3.2 million cash injection from 4DX Ventures

The Kenyan social media startup Wowzi has  managed to secure a total of $3.2 million cash injection from 4DX Ventures. 

Wowzi has a unique selling proposition, the company turns social media users into brand influencers by connecting with advertiers, in return they provide consumer insights across West and Southern Africa. 

Speaking to TechCrunch, Wowzi co-founder and CEO, Brian Mogeni said, “We are primarily focused on expanding across Africa in 2022 and in other emerging markets globally,” 

“We are also adding new product capabilities and features, as we continue to develop our technology and provide additional value to our communities,” he said.

Wowzi says it has ambitious plans for the money they have received. 

The company plans to use the new investment to set up operations in Ghana, Nigeria and South Africa, seeking growth opportunities beyond Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania, where it currently has a physical presence. It plans to use these new hubs to enter more countries across the continent.

Recently 4DX Venture closes second fund with $60 million, they also added former NBA star and legend Dikembe Mutombo as a senior advisor.
