The Argentinian and PSG soccer star Lionel Messi is the new ambassador of the Saudi Arabia Tourism Authority.
In a tweet post, Ahmed Al Khateeb, Saudi Arabia’s tourism minister said, “I am pleased to welcome Lionel Messi to Saudi Arabia.”
‘We are excited for you to explore the treasure of the Red Sea, the Jeddah Season and our ancient history. This is not his first visit to the Kingdom and it will not be the last.’
Messi also shared an Instagram post from a yacht in the Red Sea with the ‘#VisitSaudi’ hashtag.
Human Rights group Grant Liberty has called out Messi not to take part in the deal with the Kingdom for abusing human rights.
“If you say ‘yes’ to Visit Saudi you are in effect saying yes to all the human rights abuses that take place today in modern Saudi Arabia.”
One is not surprised for Messi to sign such a deal with a country that is flagged for Human rights abuse. Don’t be twisted the brother collects financial deals as he prepares himself to live a decent lifestyle post-football career retirement.
Recently the soccer star signed a $20 Million sponsorship deal with Socios.com and he developed his own burger ‘Messi Burger’ in collaboration with Hard Rock Cafe.
