Mzansi retail giant Pick n Pay has announced a partnership agreement with Takealot that will enable customers to buy Pick n Pay groceries and liquor products on the Mr D app.
A dedicated section for Pick n Pay will be added to the Mr D app in August 2022 and the national rollout will take place by the company’s financial year-end.
Pick n Pay CEO Pieter Boone said that shoppers will have access to products offered by their local stores and will earn Smart Shopper points for their purchases.
Mr D boasts 2.5 million active customers said Pick n Pay CEO.

According to the retail giant, dedicated staff will pick items in-store after customers place their orders, and Takealot’s fleet will deliver them.
If you look at the formal grocery food retail market in South Africa it will grow from a little over R600 billion towards over R800 billion in the next five years. We would like to take part of that growth. That you can only achieve with having a really clearly defined customer value proposition said Boone.
