Meta launches a digital clothing store where users can buy clothes for their avatar

Those who are still doubting the Metaverse must think again and welcome the new world order and enjoy the ride.

Meta founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg has announced the launch of the digital designer clothing store “Meta Avatars Store”.

Zuckes as he is popularly known by his peers made the announcement during Instagram Live alongside Instagram’s vice president of fashion partnerships Eva Chen.

In a statement shared on his Facebook page, he said: “We’re launching our Avatars Store on Facebook, Instagram, and Messenger so you can buy digital clothes to style your avatar. Digital goods will be an important way to express yourself in the metaverse and a big driver of the creative economy.”

“I’m excited to add more brands and bring this to VR soon too. Eva Chen and I tried out some of the new looks from Balenciaga, Prada, and Thom Browne – a change of pace from my terrycloth sweater.”

The Meta Avatars Store will start rolling out next week in the United States, Canada, Thailand and Mexico. The company plans to introduce new brands for the store soon.
