Notice anything lately? There have been a ton of layoffs among many major companies. From Google to Microsoft and eBay, it seems like everyone is trimming the fat at the beginning of 2024.
38% percent of business leaders surveyed by ResumeBuilder think layoffs are likely at their companies in 2024. Half of those surveyed cited concerns about a recession as a reason for the job cuts.
Another major reason: artificial intelligence. Around 40% of respondents said they’ll have to conduct layoffs as they replace workers with AI.
- Tech companies like Dropbox, Google, and IBM have already announced job cuts as part of a new focus on AI.
Last week, Microsoft, eBay, SAP, and Business Insider made cuts.
