Gaming: Guild Esports renew sponsorship deal with Samsung

Guild Esports, the UK-based professional gaming organisation and lifestyle brand backed by David Beckham, has announced an extension of its partnership with Samsung. The one-year renewal designates the South Korean electronics firm as Guild’s official TV partner for the UK and Ireland, providing hardware for the organisation’s esports players, as well as its offices and backroom staff.

The Samsung Display brand has also extended its sponsorship with the organisation for a further year, with the two combined deals combined worth six figures, according to Guild. The agreement has been structured with 75 per cent of the deal’s value being paid in pounds sterling, with the remainder provided via value-in-kind for Samsung products.

“This is a resounding validation of Guild’s reach and value proposition by a world-class consumer brand, and we look forward to collaborating with them even more closely to deliver to our young and engaged esports audience,” said Kal Hourd, Guild Esports chief executive.

“Guild and Samsung both share the same vision for the future of esports and this partnership reaffirms our joint commitment to providing best-in-class technology and infrastructure which are essential for the development of esports players at every level and the wider gaming community.”
