Dr Moloi-Motsepe’s African Fashion International [AFI] launched an online magazine

African Fashion International [AFI] has been at the forefront of the fashion space for the past 15 years, celebrating and promoting local fashion designers on the global stage.

Now, the fashion house AFI has launched The HON by AFI, a digital magazine to continue telling the tale of African stories. The digital magazine will be released every quarter with each edition having a different theme.

“At AFI we have spent 15 years building the best, one-stop lifestyle platform for consumers looking for unique African fashion and guiding sellers to reach a global, premium market,” says Dr Precious Moloi-Motsepe, AFI founder and executive chairperson.

“The latest introduction to the AFI brand is this digital publication, which aims to educate audiences, publicise talent, tell stories and share thought leadership, thereby contributing to transforming the industry from Africa to the diaspora.”

According to AFI, the magazine is not focused on Mzansi alone, it is a Pan-African online magazine for Africans by Africans.

“When we started conceptualizing the HON by AFI digital magazine, the aim was simple, we are telling stories of what designers and creatives in the African continent and the diaspora are doing. It is to show the world how brilliant and necessary African creatives are in the global fashion industry and their contribution to the luxury fashion industry,” says editor, Buhle Mbonambi.

The story of AFI begins in 2007, as the global fashion industry began consciously correcting its lack of diversity. AFI entered the scene with a clear vision to create a platform where the best, most globally relevant and contemporary African designers will be discovered. AFI has since groomed and propelled local designers into global household names.
