Who Is ‘Queen of Christmas?’
The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office told Mariah Carey to slow her Christmas sleigh down and reverse away from the “Queen of Christmas” title.
Earlier this year the singer filed to trademark it, along with phrases like “QOC” and “Princess of Christmas.” An appeals board announced this week that she was denied after another singer, Elizabeth Chan, contested the move.
She claimed she is also known as the Queen of Christmas and has 12 Christmas albums to back it up.
Lawyers for Carey did have a chance to respond to Chan’s contest before a final decision was made but, for whatever reason, did not.
