Facebook is no longer interested in your addresses, Interested-in, political and religious views as it begins to remove them from users’ profiles, starting from 1 December 2022.
The move is part of the social media platform getting its house in order and protecting users and making the platform user-friendly.
“As part of our efforts to make Facebook easier to navigate and use, we’re removing a handful of profile fields: Interested In, Religious Views, Political Views, and Address,” the spokesperson said in a statement.
“We’re sending notifications to people who have these fields filled out, letting them know these fields will be removed. This change doesn’t affect anyone’s ability to share this information about themselves elsewhere on Facebook.”
Facebook is trying to move with the times and be progressive not to expose its users’ information.
As their counterparts platforms like Instagram and TikTok have simple bios that let users share a little bit about themselves, without going into specific details, such as political or religious views.
Recently, Meta the parent company of Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram layoffs 11K of their employees almost 13% of the workforce were given matching orders and severance packages to leave the company.
