Elon Musk has puts Twitter’s Blue Verified relaunch on hold once again. Musk and his team are still woking out the best way to rollout this feature which became the hotly contested feature in Twitter history.
Musk Tweeted: “Holding off relaunch of Blue Verified until there is high confidence of stopping impersonation. Will probably use different color check for organisations than individuals.”
The move comes after the so called celebrities and public officials don’t want to lose or pay $7.99 for the Blue check mark, however Musk said they have to pay no matter what or they should leave the social media platform.
According to TechCrunch and a report from The Verge, Musk also talked about building features like encrypted direct messages and video calls in an internal presentation named “Twitter 2.0.” This is not the first time he has talked about introducing end-to-end encrypted DMs.
Musk last week Friday changed the social media policy into freedom of speech.
“New Twitter policy is freedom of speech, but not freedom of reach,” Musk tweeted yesterday before starting his poll about Trump’s account.
Twitter chief Elon Musk lifted the ban on former US president Donald Trump to rejoin the social media platform following permanent ban in January 2021.
