Former FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried is arrested according to Bahamas authorities 

FTX founder and former CEO Sam Bankman-Fried have been arrested by The Royal Bahamas Police Force. According to news reports the move comes after the United States filed criminal charges against Mr Fried. 

Bahamas police force authorities and Attorney General confirmed the report that Mr Fried that the former FTX CEO has been held in custody. 

“The Bahamas and the United States have a shared interest in holding accountable all individuals associated with FTX who may have betrayed the public trust and broken the law,” said Bahamian Prime Minister Philip Davis, in a press statement. 

“While the United States is pursuing criminal charges against SBF individually, The Bahamas will continue its own regulatory and criminal investigations into the collapse of FTX, with the continued cooperation of its law enforcement and regulatory partners in the United States and elsewhere.” 

According to TechCrunch, the office of the United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York Damian Williams confirmed the arrest and the fact that it was made “at the request of the U.S. Government, based on a sealed indictment filed by the SDNY.” In a tweet, the office of the SDNY added: “We expect to move to unseal the indictment in the morning and will have more to say at that time.” 

The money that investors injected into the company FTX has disappeared, no one knows what happened, only Mr Fried knows what the hell happened to those people’s funds.
