Inter Miami receives $75 Million from Ares Management investment

Major League Soccer’s (MLS) Inter Miami have secured an additional US$75 million investment from Ares Management.

It marks the firm’s second investment in Inter Miami and the first since the franchise signed Argentine soccer icon Lionel Messi. The club plans to use the funds for growth projects, including its new home stadium.

It is unclear how the preferred equity stake in Inter Miami will be structured. According to Sportico, which valued the club at US$585 million last year, it could give Ares a fixed rate of return, an income share, or future options to convert to common equity.
