German soccer giants Bayern Munich have announced a five-year partnership with the Rwanda Development Board (RDB) to promote tourism in the African nation.

What does the contract entails:

  • Allianz Arena will feature ‘Visit Rwanda’ branding on its matchday LED boards
  • Club will support activities to promote tourism and investment opportunities in Rwanda, including youth soccer projects

Context: The partnership comes as part of a broader engagement between Germany and Rwanda. Rhineland-Palatinate has maintained a 40-year partnership with Rwanda, and German organisations like the Goethe Institute and Friedrich Ebert Foundation have a presence in Kigali.
