Kevin De Bruyne back at training as City prepare for FIFA Club World Cup semi-final

Kevin De Bruyne was part of the action as City put the final preparations in place for our FIFA Club World Cup semi-final on Monday.

The Belgian has been unavailable with a hamstring injury since the Premier League opener with Burnley in August and took another step in his recovery.

It comes ahead of our meeting with Japanese club Urawa Red Diamonds at the King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia at 18:00 (UK) on Tuesday 19 December.

That represents our first match in the Club World Cup in our history and we know victory will take us to Friday’s final, said Manchester City in a blog post.

“Should we succeed in the tournament, it will mean we become the first English club to win the Premier League, FA Cup, Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup in the same calendar year.”

The champions adds, “In order to have that honour, we first must get beyond the Japanese giants who stand in our way tomorrow.”

“Since arriving in the country on Sunday morning, the players have focused on adjusting to the heat of the Middle East and took to the pitch for the first time this afternoon,” concludes City.
