Argentina football team Renews it’s Partnership with Adidas until 2038

The Argentine Football Association (AFA) has announced the renewal of its contract with adidas.

“We are delighted to forge a new partnership with adidas until 2038. Our partnership spans several decades and this new long-term commitment allows us, as an organization, to drive the success of our teams and invest in our communities,” AFA President Claudio Tapia said.

“We are proud of the recent successes we have shared, but we will continue to focus on the growth of our game and performance on the court… in this sense, and in many more, adidas is the perfect partner for us.”

Bjørn Gulden, Adidas’ chief executive, added: “The AFA, the reigning Fifa men’s World Cup champion, is one of the most successful federations in history. We have celebrated many successes together and are very proud to announce that we will continue our collaboration, at least, until 2038. It is a perfect alliance.”

Adidas has partnered continuously with the AFA since 2001 but its association with the Argentina national team dates back to the 1970s. Le Coq Sportif took over kit duties in the 1980s before the German sportswear giant returned from 1989 to 1998, after which the national governing body inked a two-year pact with Reebok.

Argentina currently holds the top spot in FIFA’s World Rankings after they won the world cup in Qatar two years ago.
