European soccer’s governing body Uefa has scored a licensing partnership with men’s shaving brand Gillette for the Champions League.
Gillette returns as the Champions League’s official licensed shaving product partner following an initial tie-up in 2019. The brand joins a wider roster of partners for European soccer’s elite club competition that includes Heineken, PlayStation, Lay’s, FedEx, Mastercard and Qatar Airways.
“Reuniting Gillette with the Uefa Champions League, the pinnacle of club football, is something we’re very excited about,” said Gary Coombe, chief executive of Gillette. “We have a long history of association with world class sports, and we’re delighted to be returning as a Uefa Champions League license.”
Guy Laurent-Epstein, Uefa marketing director, added: “We are thrilled to welcome Gillette as a licensing partner of the Uefa Champions League. Gillette has a strong heritage in supporting the game, both on and off the pitch, and our partnership will offer fans a chance to experience the best bespoke grooming products inspired by Europe’s best and most prestigious club football competition.”
