Dis-Chem has joined the delivery service party as it launched DeliverD.
According to Business Insider SA, The South African Pharmacy and beauty retailer Dis-Chem has has a new 60-minute delivery service, DeliverD, the fourth such on-demand delivery offering by a major retailer since Checkers first launched its Sixty60 app in November 2019.
The retailer plans to launch DeliverD initially in selected stores across Johannesburg and other major metros and will then extended it to other regions where Dis-Chem has a presence,
Unlike Checker’s Sixty60 and Woolworth’s Dash, Dis-Chem’s offering doesn’t have a separate app and has the DeliverD service built within its existing mobile app.
Speaking to Business Insider SA, Saul Saltzman the executive director at Dis-Chem said DeliverD complements the retailer’s existing online offering.
“This development taps directly into understanding what our customers want, central to which is convenience. We have seen significant online growth in the past 12 months, and the ongoing customer demand for quick, same-day online service was a key driver behind the introduction of this offering,” Saltzman said.
