Meta Platforms Inc., the company formerly known as Facebook Inc., is developing a smartwatch with a front-facing camera and rounded screen, according to an image of the device found inside one of the tech giant’s iPhone apps.
The photo shows a watch with a screen and casing that’s slightly curved at the edges. The front-facing camera — similar to what you’d see on a smartphone — appears at the bottom of the display, and there’s a control button for the watch on the right side.

According to Bloomberg, Meta is hoping to launch a smartwatch as early as 2022, but nothing has been finalized yet. Further, Facebook’s parent company is reportedly already working on three generations of product that will be released at different times. It’s not clear if the device shown in the image is one of those, or if it will even be released at all.
It’s clear that Meta’s Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg is coming for Apple Inc and is ready to find with the tech giant. Apple has been enjoying the monopoly in the tech space, is good to see someone coming on the horizon to challenge them. If there’s the best company to challenge Apple it has to be Meta, they have financial muscles and capabilities to go after Apple.
