Truth to be told the last two years has been hard for most small and medium business owners in South Africa and across the globe due to covid-19, some businesses made it while some went burst.
Mark Sham, entrepreneur and founder of Suits & Sneakers has launched Small Business Showcase in March 2020 to shine a spotlight and give publicity to small businesses.
“Being in the events industry, Suits & Sneakers was heavily affected by the lockdown and after a few weeks, we set up a small video studio in an attempt to keep our business alive,” he said.
Now, Sham is taking the initiative to another level, he created Small Business Showcase website to list and promote other businesses.
In a blog post he explains, “the Small Business Showcase as it exists to find quality small businesses in South Africa and then list them on this site so that people who want to support small businesses can find them in one central place. Think of us as a small business online directory.”
“Added to this, our goal is to promote quality small businesses to the masses across South Africa and get people to shift spending toward these small businesses. We want to be the driving force behind small businesses in South Africa. The way we believe we will achieve this is by creating epic content about small businesses and using that content to tell cool stories about these small businesses in a way that will encourage all South Africans to support small businesses that are doing incredible things.”
“Being a small business ourselves, we understand how hard it can be to operate a small business in South Africa so we want to play our part in making this country better by shining a spotlight on quality small businesses and showcasing what they’re all about,” read the blog post.
