Ticketmaster partners with Flow blockchain to allow events organisers to issue and sell NFTs

If you think web3 is going to happen in the future, think again, the technology is here already disrupting the ticketing and events market.

Ticketmaster has joined forces with Flow blockchain to make non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and web3 a reality.

Event organisers who sell tickets via Ticketmaster will be able to issue non-fungible tokens (NFTs) before, during and after live events thanks to a partnership with the Flow blockchain.

Ticketmaster says the ability to sell digital collectibles is an opportunity to deepen engagement with fans and drive additional revenues by extending the overall experience beyond the time that fans spend in a physical venue.

“Event organisers who choose to offer fans an NFT with their ticket have a real opportunity to make this new technology relevant and relatable at scale,” said Brendan Lynch, Ticketmaster executive vice president for enterprise and revenue. “This is why we are partnering with Flow, because their blockchain is custom-built for fan engagement and frictionless consumer experiences.”

“Our partnership with Ticketmaster will enable millions of live event fans to immortalise, share and enhance their IRL experiences through digital collectibles,” added Mickey Maher, senior vice president of partnerships of Dapper Labs.

“Ticketmaster has quickly become a leader in this space, so we’re excited to support their work in empowering event organisers to deliver even greater value to fans through the benefits of blockchain.”
