TikTok’s COO Pappas step-down after five years of steering the ship

TikTok announced that its Chief Operating Officer V. Pappas is stepping down from his position after five years with the company owned by China’s ByteDance. 

Pappas is not leaving the company immediately, in an email to staff, Pappas said they would be taking on an advisory role for the company during the transition.

“Given all the successes reached at TikTok, I finally feel the time is right to move on and refocus on my entrepreneurial passions and endeavours,” said Pappas. 

The short video’s parent company ByteDance revealed that Zenia Mucha, a former executive at Walt Disney Co, will join TikTok as chief brand and communications officer.

Adam Presser, the social media’s chief of staff, will take over the position of head of operations and oversee content, user operations and distribution, said ByteDance Chief Executive Shou Chew.
