Spanish soccer giants Barcelona are launching a mobile network as parts of a new telecoms partnership that will see upgraded 5G infrastructure installed at the club’s revamped Camp Nou stadium. New Era Visionary Group (NEVG) has signed five-year deal to become club’s ‘official telecom operator’ until the end of 2030.
Barca Mobile’ will launch next year, offering mobile data and fixed broadband plans to fans in Spain using Orange’s network. Subscribers will receive additional Barcelona-themed perks and rewards. Camp Nou will receive ‘5G+’ connectivity allowing fans to access key applications during matches.
“Espai Barça must be the catalyst for the club’s digital transformation, and having the best connectivity in the stadium is essential to providing a unique match day experience for all our fans and visitors,” said Juli Guiu, Barcelona vice president of marketing.
“At the same time, the launch of ‘Barça Mobile Services’ with NEVG and in collaboration with Orange will be a major step forward, offering all users a mobile service with a wide range of possibilities and many advantages for FC Barcelona members.”
The partnership comes into effect on 1st January 2025. Rennovation work on the Camp Nou is expected to conclude in 2026.
