Cape Town Cycle Tour 2025: Hisense SA calls on cyclists to ride with flags to increase donations to CANSA & other charities

Hisense SA is proud to sponsor the iconic 47th Cape Town Cycle Tour, scheduled for Sunday, 9 March 2025. This marks the second year of a partnership that fuels the globally acclaimed race, bringing together the spirit of athleticism, community and generosity.

More than 35 000 cyclists are expected to participate in this year’s race. Participants from around the world will traverse 109km across some of the most beautiful terrain in the world, from the vibrant city, the stunning ocean views, to majestic mountainous landscapes.

In honour of the effort and dedication shown by the cyclists, the sponsorship fee paid by Hisense SA will be donated to the cycle tour’s associated charities, including the Cancer Association of South Africa (CANSA), the Tygerberg Hospital Children’s Trust, and Sozo Foundation.

To amplify the charitable impact of the race, Hisense SA invites riders to sign up online and carry Hisense SA flags during the race. For every 109 flags that cross the finish line, Hisense SA will donate state-of-the-art, 18kg smart top-loader washing machines valued at over R10,900 each, to the charities associated with the Cycle Tour to help ease their work as they pour their hearts and energy into uplifting our communities. Each washing machine has an inverter motor, to assist the charities in power saving as well.

“Hisense SA is thrilled to have the opportunity to not only partner with this iconic race, but also to support organisations like the Cancer Association of South Africa. CANSA fulfils a critical role in providing additional support to cancer patients, from care centres and homes to counselling and important health information. It is an honour to add our support to this vital work. We have committed to donating up to R329 000 in washing machines for this event,” says Luna Nortje, Deputy General Manager at Hisense SA.

The Cape Town Cycle Tour has a long and illustrious history on the City’s annual calendar, with a stellar record for empowering local charitable efforts. Hisense SA is thrilled to be a part of this legacy and to give back to the community champions that enrich our social fabric. Riders wishing to carry Hisense SA flags are encouraged to sign up by 4pm on Saturday, 8 March 2025. Flags can be collected at the Hisense stand on the day, and must be dropped off at the finish line, in the area branded by Hisense SA.
