Hisense SA confirms launch of New Quantum Dot tech TVs in SA with QLED range

In a move that’s reshaping the future of home entertainment, the South African arm of global electronics giant Hisense has unveiled its most advanced television technology to date, with a QLED range that outperforms traditional UHD standards, following price standardisation.

“Consumers households across South Africa have battled to secure access to televisions that offer a deeper immersion, richer colours, and smarter integration, due to the unattainabble price tag associated with high-end TV’s” comments Luna Nortjie, Deputy General Manager of Hisense SA.

“We are proud, today, to confirm the price standardisation of Hisense SA’s QLED lineup. This means that any South African household with a UHD TV can now afford state-of-the-art TV models that make use of Quantum Dot technology instead –  offering a significant turning point for viewing experiences at home, ahead of the Fifa World Cup in 2025”.

While Ultra High Definition (UHD) TVs ushered in an era of sharper resolution, Hisense SA’s QLED models offer Quantum Dot technology to dramatically enhance colour precision, contrast, and brightness. With over one billion true-to-life shades on screen, local households can affordably enjoy a visual experience that rivals cinema quality, in their own homes.

“We’re witnessing a shift in what consumers expect from their televisions,” adds Nortjie. “It’s no longer just about resolution; it’s about intelligence, adaptability, and emotional immersion. That’s exactly what our QLED range delivers.”

At the forefront of this shift is the Hisense Q7Q, designed for tech-forward households, gamers, and film lovers. Features like Dolby Vision IQ, Dolby Atmos, and 144Hz Game Mode PRO elevate both picture and sound quality based on the viewer’s surroundings, ensuring seamless viewing whether you’re watching a blockbuster movie with friends and family or gaming online.

The Q6Q model also offers QLED quality, but to a wider audience, with a more family-friendly package that includes smart streaming features, Dolby Vision, and voice remote integration – at an accessible price point.

With South African homes becoming a hybrid hub for work, play, and connection, Hisense SA’s new QLED range is meeting a rising demand for smarter, higher-quality living room tech. More than a product launch, the QLED unveiling reflects a broader trend: consumers want immersive technology that complements their lifestyle, at a rate they can afford, and they want it now.

“Hisense SA is happy to confirm that its new QLED range will be available at all major retailers nationwide from April 2025. The recommended selling price has been standardised against most UHD models, to allow consumers the opportunity to make QLED the new standard. The Q7Q model ranges from R9,999.00 for the 55 inch, up to R49,999.00 for the 100 inch option. The Q6Q models starts at R7,999.00 for the 55 inch, with the 85 inch retailing at R21,999.00” concludes Nortjie.
