English soccer giants Chelsea have announced Dubai-based property development company DAMAC Properties as their front-of-shirt sponsor for the remainder of the 2024/25 season.
Chelsea have played out the 2024/25 season without a front-of-shirt sponsor, having last had a one-year agreement with sports technology startup Infinite Athlete for the 2023/24 campaign reportedly worth UK£40 million (US$53.3 million). Infinite Athlete remains a club sponsor.
While the pact with DAMAC is a stopgap, and does not cover this summer’s Fifa Club World Cup, The Times reports that Chelsea are continuing to search for a long-term front-of-shirt partner. One scenario could see another sponsor take over from DAMAC for the Club World Cup before the Blues land another deal lasting at least a full season.
The club is hopeful that qualifying for the Uefa Champions League would ensure a more lucrative arrangement. Chelsea currently sit fifth in the Premier League, which would be enough to secure passage into Europe’s top-tier club competition next season.
Jason Gannon, Chelsea’s president and chief operating officer, said: “DAMAC are world renowned in building luxury properties, and we are thrilled to be working with the industry leader to bring to market a first-of-its-kind branded Chelsea FC residence in Dubai.
“With the club located in the heart of London, the collaboration will bring Chelsea to life in Dubai, support our continued growth on the global stage.”
