Stogie T announces New Album Anomy, featuring Maglera Doe Boy, Thandiswa Mazwai, Nasty C, A-Reece, Maggz, and Ricky Tyler

Motif Records announces the upcoming release of ANOMY, the new album by South African rap titan Stogie T.

A profound and ambitious body of work, ANOMY finds the celebrated lyricist confronting themes of identity, purpose, disillusionment, and spiritual reconstruction. Drawing from the sociological term “anomie,” which refers to a collapse of shared values, the album reflects Stogie T’s exploration of a world in moral drift and the emotional debris left in its wake.

The cover art, styled like an ancient mural of fractured tiles and fragmented faces, mirrors this introspective journey and was created through a layered collaboration between photographer Felicity Steenkamp, illustrator Luckymong, and Stogie T himself. Throughout the project, the rapper navigates the tensions between the old self and the emerging one, balancing lament, rebuke, celebration, and truth-seeking in equal measure.

Featuring major collaborations with some of Africa’s most revered artists, the album offers standout moments such as “Grande Vita,” a triumphant and motivational anthem featuring R&B star Ricky Tyler; “Anomy,” a powerful artistic convergence with Maglera Doe Boy and Thandiswa Mazwai; and “Four Horsemen,” a landmark lyrical moment featuring Nasty C, Maggz, and A-Reece. With its fusion of emotional depth, philosophical storytelling, and heavyweight features, ANOMY stands poised as one of the most significant hip-hop releases of the year, reaffirming Stogie T’s status as one of the continent’s most important and enduring voices.
