The Hot 102.7FM wants to play Old skool and R&B 24 hours a day, replacing the classical music at night.
“Hot 102.7FM has made an application to the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) to amend its individual commercial sound broadcasting service licence,” said the station in a social media post. “HOT 102.7FM’s existing licence as set out by ICASA states that HOT 102.7FM shall play 50% Old Skool and R&B music and 50% Classical music.”
“From 7pm each day for the past 4 years HOT 102.7fm changes from it’s Old Skool and R&B music to classical music and would now like to play Old skool and R&B 24 hours a day, replacing the classical music at night.”
“We request your assistance, as our HOT 102.7FM listeners, to take a quick survey which we will submit to ICASA to state whether you would like HOT 1027 to play its old Skool and R&B music 24hours a day or continue playing classical music from 7pm daily,” adds the station.
