Google to Open Physical Retail Store in NYC

The search engine giant Google has announced that is opening its first physical retail store. The New space for Google store will be located in New York’s Chelsea area.

Customers will be able to browse and buy an extensive selection of products made by Google, ranging from Pixel phones to Nest products, Fitbit devices to Pixelbooks and more, company said the in a statement.

Google will allow customers to shop online at Google Store and pick up their orders in store.

The company said, throughout the store, visitors will be able to experience how our products and services work together in a variety of immersive ways, which we’re excited to share more about when the doors open.

According to The Verge website, “Google has experimented with small pop-up stores and booths before to sell its products, but the store announcement marks a far more serious commitment to establishing a retail space.”

They will have experts on hand to help visitors get the most out of their device, such as troubleshooting an issue, fixing a cracked Pixel screen or helping with installations, adds the company

Google takes health and safety of their customers and staff seriously as masks, hand sanitation and social distancing will be required in the store, they also promised to clean all spaces multiple times a day and limiting the number of customers in the shop.

The reason the store located in Chelsea neighbourhood is because, Google has been in New York for the last 20 years, and they view the store as a natural extension of their longtime commitment to the city. 

Google has yet to announce the official date for the store opening this summer and plans to expand beyond the single location, hopefully its subjected to the success of Chelsea location store.
