Microsoft is positioning itself right on top when it comes to (edtech) education technology and online collaboration thanks to Covid-19 pandemic.
The software giant has bought TakeLessons, an online education platform for students to connect with individual tutors in academic subjects, professional training, and other vocational persuades like music lessons, hobbies and language learning.
Education is shifting towards online across the world and Microsoft sees a golden opportunity in the space. Now the company can compete with the likes on Google Classroom and Zoom in online education space.
TakeLessons confirmed the deal of the acquisition however they haven’t disclose how much the deal worth. The company said it will continue operating as usual in the meantime until further notice.
With Microsoft on board, the online education platform has intention and ambition of taking its platform to a wider global audience.
