Apple is working on Mental Health Monitoring Using iPhone Data

Apple Inc is reportedly working on a mechanism to help detect and diagnose conditions such as depression, anxiety while using iPhone. 

According to The Wall Street Journal, researchers hope that analysis of data such as mobility, sleep patterns and how people type could spot behaviours associated with those conditions. 

The company plans to use other measurements that could include facial expression analysis and heart and respirations rates. Reports by TechCrunch states that Apple is currently working on a search projects that could lead to the developments of these features.

Researchers will compare data captured from iPhone and Watch sensors with questionnaires participants fill out about how they feel, according to the report. 

The company has partnered with the educational research bodies such as The University of California, Los Angeles [UCLA] to work on the project and make it a reality.
