Here are five things that have been on my brain this week writes Gary Vee
  1. Having great ambition while equally having the humility to understand why it may seem wild or off-putting to others is an important ability to have…Time will tell who was right. No reason to debate it along the way.
  2. It takes time…and no one wants it to…That’s the delta.
  3. Doubters always end up on the wrong side of history when they bet against true operators
  4. First they’ll call you stupid…then they’ll call you lucky 😉 Remember, just make sure that you’re always executing and “they” are spending their time “calling you things.”
  5. If you’re new to nfts, here’s my #1…don’t use Discord DM…scammers preying on people’s lack of understanding of web3 and humans who get excited when they “win.”

Part of the reason I wrote Twelve and a Half is to make those 12.5 emotional ingredients “cool” in the world of business. Less “dog eat dog” and more leading with kindness.

If you’re a leader, please understand this…

Why is it appropriate in any situation for you to aggressively yell at an employee in front of others? Guess what… It’s not. There is no reason to be cruel when delivering feedback. You can get things done without making people feel bad about it.

I’m not saying everything needs to be all zen and sweet, but why can’t we agree to lead with kindness? Why not add some kindness to your candor? If you’re a leader and you’re feeling pain and stress, be self-aware enough to take that stress elsewhere, and then come back and be constructive with your team.

Too often we accept poor behavior as just a part of doing business…If Carl comes back and says, “sorry, I just had a tough day with a client,” we’re like “that’s okay, Carl.” NO…fuck Carl! It’s not okay.

Kindness, empathy, self-awareness, kind candor…These are just a few of the traits that are gonna help change business for the better.
