English Premier League is the most-watched European football on YouTube that’s according to BuzzMyVideos, a data march company.
La Liga took the second position as the most-watched league on the video-sharing platform, then followed by Bundesliga and Ligue 1.
The report also reveals that Barcelona has more views and subscribers on the YouTube with 2.12 billion views, Liverpool is 2nd on the list with 1.59 billion views, the mighty fallen Man United is the third with 1.11 billion, Man City took the fourth place with 1.09 billion and Real Madrid completed the Top 5 with 946 million views.
Paola Marinone, founder and chief executive of BuzzMyVideos, told SportsPro that: “The report shows how the transformation of football to the entertainment industry is progressing.”
Marinone continues: “The top European clubs are already treating their YouTube channels as a broadcast D2C, as a strategic part of their media business strategy. It is not only a media play but also a global strategy, reaching the audience wherever they are, hence having an even more seizable addressable market.”
“There’s a massive area of growth between the top ten European clubs and everyone else, which means there is going to be a lot happening in the coming seasons with different strategies and approaches. I’m curious to see what the results of next year will tell,” he concluded.
