Apple-owned headphones brand Beats by Dre has added Inter Miami’s Lionel Messi to its athlete roster. The Argentine soccer superstar will feature across Beats marketing campaigns promoting the company’s various audio products.
The partnership with Messi, who is now in his second season with Inter Miami, means the 37-year-old becomes the first player to sign with Beats since the company was unveiled as Major League Soccer’s (MLS) official consumer products partner in February 2024. That deal includes Beats creating custom headphones for the league’s franchises, including Inter Miami.
Beats’ athlete roster includes Manchester City striker Erling Haaland and Arsenal ace Alessia Russo, as well as National Basketball Association (NBA) icon LeBron James.
Since Apple and MLS announced their ten-year, US$2.5 billion global broadcast partnership in 2022, the technology giant has made various efforts to expand its relationship with the league.
Messi has shown how capable he is of bringing fans into the Apple ecosystem. His pact with Beats will be beneficial not just for him and the brand, but also MLS and Apple.
