Check Point Software released the 2025 African Perspectives on Cybersecurity Report

Check Point Software released the 2025 African Perspectives on Cybersecurity Report. The publication uniquely interrogates the cybersecurity ‘health’ of four major industry sectors – government, telecoms, financial services and education – in South Africa, Nigeria, Kenya, and Morocco – countries that are representative of

the continent as a whole.  Among the findings, the report reveals Africa’s digital expansion has entered its acceleration phase.

  • Mobile penetration exceeds 90 % in key markets;
  • AI applications are emerging across banking, education, telecoms and public administration;
  • and governments are rolling out e-services and digital IDs at record speed.

But growth has outpaced governance.  Cybersecurity has become the price of participation in this new economy. An organisation in Africa is attacked 3,153 times per week, 60 % higher than the global baseline of 1,963 attacks per organisation per week. Please find the full report attached in PDF format, and let me know if you would be interested in meeting with a Check Point spokesperson to discuss the report’s contents further.
