Canal Plus, owners of DStv are reportedly preparing a major overhaul of its streaming packages in South Africa, with new package names, channel line-ups and prices expected from 17 September.
The reported line-up includes Starter at R99 a month, Select at R299, Sports at R399, Movies & Series at R500 and Premium at R799.
One of the biggest changes would be the introduction of a standalone DStv Sports package, reportedly offering 115 channels and a broader selection of sports content, including Premier League and UEFA matches, T20 cricket and local rugby.
The reported changes apply to streaming packages, while customers using decoder-based subscriptions are not expected to see their prices change.
