Pirates Legend Lucky Lekgwathi’s Restaurant Looted in Soweto

Orlando Pirates legend Lucky Lekgwathi has suffered from the Gauteng shutdown and looting with his Grootman restaurant completely destroyed.

The former Pirates captain retired as one of the most decorated footballers of his generation and moved into entrepreneurship with the ‘Grootman by Lucky Lekgwathi’ and the ‘Fantastic 14 clothing brand.

Launched in April this year in Kliptown Soweto the establishment has been torn down during the Gauteng shut down, leaving the four employees without jobs.

The images of the restaurant in the aftermath, which can be seen in the gallery above, is barely recognisable to the hard work that went in when opened earlier this year.

Taking to social media where the images and video has since gone viral, Lekgwathi simply captioned the post; “I leave everything to the Almighty God.”
