TikTok has reached 1 billion monthly active users. The short form video platform announced in a blog that their on the upward trajectory with their grown and they’re unstoppable.
TikTok said that its biggest markets are in the United States, Europe, Brazil and Southeast Asia, even though its parent company ByteDance is headquartered in China.
In a statement the company said, at TikTok, our mission is to inspire creativity and bring joy. Today, we’re celebrating that mission and our global TikTok community. More than 1 billion people around the world now come to TikTok every month to be entertained as they learn, laugh, or discover something new.
It adds, “we’re honoured to be a home for our immensely diverse community of families, small businesses, and creators who transform into our favourite stars.”
Reuters reports, the company previously said it had about 55 million global users by January 2018. That number rose to more than 271 million by December 2018, 508 million by December 2019, and 689 million by July 2020.
The company reads, TikTok has become a beloved part of life for people around the world because of the creativity and authenticity of our creators. Our global community is remarkable in its ability to reach millions of people, across generations. From music, food, beauty and fashion to art, causes, and everything in between, culture truly starts on TikTok.
TikTok offer entertainment and escapism to people since the majority of them are in lockdown in their homes across the world.
