Facebook test New Feature for Cross-Posting your Facebook feed post to Instagram

Facebook Inc is currently testing a new feature for cross posting your facebook feed post to Instagram.

The platform already allows users to cross-post their Instagram Stories and Reels to Facebook. Now the platform is planning for then message to go other way around. 

The facebook’s move is part of the company’s strategy to position it self to fight and compete with the new kid on the block TikTok and Snapchat. Lately, TikTok is giving a number of companies a more sleepless nights and a run for their money. 

According to TechCrunch, the company told them users will be able to cross-post to Instagram single photos, single videos or multiphoto albums up to 10 photos — the max that’s supported through Instagram’s carousels. 

Other formats, like GIFs, polls, photos albums with more than 10 photos, Feed reshares, text-only posts and any media that’s too tall for Instagram’s Feed are not eligible for cross-posting at present.

the social media giant is yet to make an official announcement about how long the global test will run for and when would roll out the new feature globally.
