Prada’s 75 years Old CEO Plans to Hand over Reins to his Son in 3 yrs time

Change of guards is coming to Italian luxury fashion house as the second generation is on the line to take over and run the company.

Prada’s current CEO Patrizio Bertelli announced recently that he could hand over the reins of the group to his son Lorenzo Bertelli in three years’ time.

While speaking in Milan, Italy, Bertelli said for now he still have enough gas in the tank to run the company.

“I have said three years given my age, but I am not anxious about it,” Bertelli told an analyst presentation in Milan.

However Bertelli Junior is sceptical about his father next move and future ambitions.

Lorenzo Bertelli, who is the group’s marketing chief, told the same presentation he was not so sure his father would retire so soon.

The company was started in 1913 by Mario Prada and his brother Martino as a leather goods shop Fratelli Prada in Milan, Italy. Initially, the shop sold animal goods and imported English steamer trunks and handbags.
