Avatar Agency appoints Ad man, Mzamo Xala as a new group CEO

Avatar, the advertising agency  has appointed Mzamo Xala as the company’s new group Chief Executive Officer (CEO), starting from 1 March 2022. 

Xala is taking over from the current group CEO and founder of Zibusiso Mkhwanazi, who felt the position for a decade. 

Prior this position Xala held a gig a leading dual roles as chief strategy officer and managing director of the B2B company, Resilience. 

The company’s co-founder and partner Veli Ngubane will continue with his current role as chief creative officer, working closely with Xala.

Speaking about his new appointment, Xala said they will continue challenging themselves. 

“The encouragement, challenges and feedback our clients’ give us to inspire us to do better, every day. We will continue to challenge ourselves to deliver work that is relevant, original and impactful,” adds Xala.

While highlighting the company’s mile stones and a decade of dominating the ad world, Mkhwanazi says his looking forward to reach greater heights in the next 10 years. 

“In the next 10 years, we will keep raising the bar. We can’t thank our teams, partners, and Clients enough for all their contributions to the growth of Avatar. We will be celebrating this milestone throughout 2022 and we look forward to having them alongside us as we shape the future of marketing, media and advertising together in the next decade,” ends Mkhwanazi.
