Parler’s parent company Parlement Technologies announced that rapper and business Kanye West is no longer acquiring the social media platform.
The news came after Mr West appeared on a show hosted by conspiracy theorist Alex Jones. On the show Ye made some wild remarks about being a fan of former Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler and made antisemitic jokes about former Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
“Parlement Technologies would like to confirm that the company has mutually agreed with Ye to terminate the intent of sale of Parler,” the company said.
“Parler will continue to pursue future opportunities for growth and the evolution of the platform for our vibrant community,” it added. The company was founded in 2018 and since then it was know as “uncancelable free speech platform.”
The Nashville startup, says it is “a guiding force in the fight against Big Tech, Big Government, censorship and cancel culture.”
“Don’t kill what ye hate,” Musk had tweeted at West on Nov. 20. “Save what ye love.”
When the deal with West was announced two months ago, Parler CEO George Farmer said, “Ye is making a groundbreaking move into the free speech media space and will never have to fear being removed from social media again.”
