Dr Mpho Phalatse after being ousted as Johannesburg Mayor in a vote of no confidence, now she set her sights on the leadership of the Democratic Alliance as she plans to challenge John Steenhuisen at the party’s congress in April.
Dr Phalatse says its time for the party’s old guard to leave and give new blood with fresh ideas a chance to run the political party.
“I have always known there is a need for leadership change in the party,” Dr Mpho Phalatse, Former Johannesburg Mayor.
Despite losing the mayorialship in the city of Johannesburg, Dr Phalatse is not leaving the party.
“I am not leaving the Democratic Alliance…,” she adds.
