In celebration of International Children’s Day, Hisense SA is proud to introduce a meaningful, nationwide campaign aimed at empowering children with practical knowledge about electricity safety. This Friday, 30 May, members of the media are invited to attend the first activation of the “Bright Futures, Safe Hands” initiative at Tembisa Primary School in Ekurhuleni.
Electricity-related incidents remain a serious and under-addressed risk affecting children across South Africa. Factors like exposed wiring, informal connections, and limited access to safety education heighten the danger in many communities. While these risks can appear anywhere, proactive education remains a powerful and inclusive tool to address them.
Through this campaign, Hisense SA is stepping up as a responsible corporate citizen, supporting schools and communities in fostering safer environments for children. By enabling learners with critical safety knowledge, the company hopes to complement national efforts and community-driven solutions with long-term impact.
At the launch event, learners will participate in hands-on safety demonstrations led by trained facilitators. The sessions will cover topics such as identifying electrical hazards, using appliances safely, and how to react during emergencies, all in a way that is engaging, practical, and age-appropriate. The event details are provided below:
- Date: Friday, 30 May 2025
- Time: 09:00–11:00
- Venue: Tembisa Primary School, Seretse Street, Tembisa, Johannesburg, 1632
In addition to the safety training, Hisense SA will donate essential appliances to the school, to improve both classroom experiences and kitchen infrastructure for staff and students. Mr. Han, Director of the Quality & Service Department of Hisense SA, will be on-site to speak with media. This is a media moment that captures both a powerful story of corporate citizenship and the spirit of International Children’s Day: an inspiring, solutions-oriented initiative grounded in local realities.
