The online ecosystem its a land grab as it gives a plenty of opportunities to entrepreneurs who are willing to challenge and change the status quo, in order to realise their dreams.
The newly launched food delivery app MyChef, is planning to disrupt the online food delivery market. Their intention is clear and laser focus on supporting little guys such as local restaurants and coffee shops around the corner.
MyChef app was developed by TSN-Mzimba and founded by the duo Donald Chauke and Itumeleng Mzimba.
By the look of things, MyChef is going to challenge big brands such as Uber Eats and Mr D Food as they fight for the market share.
Speaking to MyBroadband the company said, “we are for local coffee shops and hidden gems – the lady who makes the best novelty cakes, the freshest pastries made by the tannie down the road, and every other local hotspot in your neighbourhood.”
For those who want to try MyChef out, it is now live in the following areas of Johannesburg:
- Rosebank
- Linden
- Melville
- Greenside
- Parkview
- Vosloorus
- Katlehong
- Benoni
- Melrose
Customers are charged a R20 delivery fee for addresses which are within 5km of the restaurant, with an additional R3.50 per km for those further away. A service fee of R9.50 also applies.
The app will be expanding to Cape Town, Pretoria, and Soweto in the first half of 2021.
