Microsoft to withdraw LinkedIn from China Market

tech platform Microsoft announced that is planning to withdraw from the Chinese market. The move comes after the Chinese authorities started to crack the whip on big and regulatory changes in tech companies.

LinkedIn is officially owned by Microsoft, the company purchased the platform for $26 billion in 2016.

But LinkedIn wrote that it is now “facing a significantly more challenging operating environment and greater compliance requirements in China.”

“That changed market landscape led to the company making the “decision to sunset the current localised version of LinkedIn, which is how people in China access LinkedIn’s global social media platform, later this year.”
