Tinder, the dating application is introducing a new feature for its members to go on virtual ‘blind dates’.
February is the month of love and for Tinder, this is the perfect time to bring back the ‘blind dates’ since Valentines Day is just around the corner.
How does it work?
Tinder is not sending two members out on a blind date together however, it’s introducing them to one another through a social chatting feature that will allow them to interact and chat before they can view each others’ profiles.
According to the company, the feature aims to encourage people to gauge their first impressions of one other based on personality and conversation, instead of photos.
Kyle Miller, VP of Product Innovation at Tinder said, “There’s something really special about letting conversation introduce someone’s personality, without the preconceptions that can be made from photos.”
“The new Blind Date experience brings a surprisingly fun, banter-based way to interact and create connections that are all new to Tinder,” he concluded.
The platform is not going to create a new app for this kind of experience however it believes the idea of blind dating can be an option within its existing application.
