TikTok in-app ticketing feature with Ticketmaster is now available 20 countries

After successful launch and run in the US market, TikTok and Ticketmaster are expanding their partnership into other 20 markets. TikTok users will be able to purchase event tickets without leaving the platform, that’s another clever way by both parties to keep their users and music fans engaged.

The social media platform announced that the feature will now work in the UK, Ireland, Australia, Germany, France, Canada, Mexico, New Zealand, and several other major markets. That means performers can promote upcoming shows by embedding links in their videos to purchase tickets directly within the app.

“By enabling fans to buy tickets directly through TikTok, we’re giving artists the opportunity to reach ticket buyers in a whole new way and change the game for live events around the world,” said Michael Kümmerle, TikTok’s Global Music Partnership Development Lead, in a statement.

“As we bring fans closer to the artists and events they love, we hope to deliver further value to all artists throughout all stages of their careers and provide more opportunities for a growing fanbase.”

TikTok says anyone who’s been verified as a certified artist on the platform can use the feature, provided they’re in one of the regions participating in the partnership.

The feature is now available in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, Germany, France, Canada, Mexico, Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Italy, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Switzerland, Spain and Sweden.

Still not clear when the feature will be available in some parts of the African continent, given the rise of Afrobeats music led by global super stars like Burna Boy, Davido, Wizkid and others in the African diaspora.
