Meta’s WhatsApp to roll out a new feature that allows users to send photos and videos as documents to preserve their original quality. The new feature is in the testing phase, currently available to a limited number of users.
According to WABetaInfo, the feature has been in beta testing for approximately a month, during which only select users could use it. However, it is now rolling out to all WhatsApp users on Android and iOS.
“Users who install the latest versions of WhatsApp beta for Android can share photos and videos with their original quality with ease, without navigating through their internal storage.”
WABetaInfo states that, “this feature represents a significant improvement for media sharing, particularly for iOS users who previously faced challenges when sharing photos or videos as documents.”

According to tech insiders, WhatsApp will start rolling out the new feature to more people over the coming weeks.
