Tech giant Amazon joins Esports World Cup (EWC) as official eCommerce partner

The Esports World Cup (EWC) has appointed technology giant Amazon as its official ecommerce partner. The partnership looks to enhance the EWC experience for local fans and to engage new audiences with a unified platform combining retail and live streaming. 

As part of the deal Amazon to launch the Esports World Cup Hub, a dedicated online space for esports fans in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). Amazon’s hub to host official EWC Twitch stream for followers to follow esports competitions throughout the event.

“Partnering with Amazon is a significant milestone for the Esports World Cup,” said Mohammed Al Nimer, sales director, Esports World Cup Foundation. “Together, we are crafting an unparalleled experience for gaming fans, merging the excitement of live esports with the ease of online shopping.

“Like the EWCF, Amazon understands the value of esports as next-generation entertainment for audiences in the MENA region and beyond. I’m pleased that local gamers will have a dedicated online space to connect with the Esports World Cup and watch this historic event unfold in Riyadh.”

In partnering with Amazon, the EWC has assembled an expansive roster of sponsors, with the likes of oil giant Aramco, Pepsi and Adidas all on board for the inaugural event. 

Fans in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Egypt will receive exclusive gaming ecommerce deals on Amazon throughout and after the EWC, until 31st October.
